An immersive, multi-projection audiovisual installation, conceived as an “augmented documentary,” that explores the relationship between visual signs, writing, and the nomadism of the image. Drawing on Hawad’s visual and poetic Tuareg imagery, the installation reinterprets “furigraphs”—an artistic practice that intertwines poetry, graphic signs, and visual gestures—transforming them into moving audiovisual signs. The materials, conceived as an audiovisual alphabet, come from the archives of a father and son’s travels in the Sahara between 1987 and 2026, and are combined with the Tifinagh alphabet, the furigraphs, and Hawad’s poem Our Land Howls, accompanied by Reda Zine’s guembri, generating an audiovisual language in constant metamorphosis. The immersive space becomes an expanded surface of writing, where images, signs, and sounds intertwine, proliferate, and collapse, transforming the documentary into a nomadic language, uniting cinema, visual art, and sound into a single immersive organism.
